Utility Auditor

UtiliSave has been an industry leader in utility bill auditing and energy efficiency services for 25 years, and we are growing rapidly as we expand our business. We seek an experienced utility auditor to play a key role on our forensic utility bill analysis.

The ideal candidate will have a record of success in a role focused on gathering data, cost analysis, analyzing complicated laws and regulations, and identifying cases, opportunities and solutions. This position interfaces directly with customers, so strong communication, presentation and client management skills are also essential. Previous familiarity with utility regulations, rates and billing is a must.

Our clients are large organizations with significant energy and utility usage, such as hospitals, nursing homes, commercial and residential buildings, universities, hotels and government facilities. We can identify unique savings opportunities using our unmatched knowledge of utility tariff structures and our powerful proprietary IT system.

Responsibilities:

Apply your analytical skills and general business knowledge to identify cost savings opportunities for clients.

  • Using UtiliSave’s proprietary software applications, conduct financial, utility and business analysis of clients’ operations, and initiate action to obtain cost savings for clients.
  • Interface with clients, utility companies, tax authorities, regulatory authorities and government agencies to obtain appropriate information to successfully implement savings opportunities.
  • Match details in complex utility tariff codes against our clients’ usage and practices to identify new savings.
  • Collaborate with our MIS group in implementing tools to improve our client account review process.

Requirements:

  • 3-5 years of experience in a relevant auditing or analyst role.
  • Have deep knowledge of Utility tariffs in any of the States in America.
  • International Utility tariffs knowledge a plus
  • The ability to grasp and explain technical and legal concepts and business issues is a requirement.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, and the demonstrated ability to negotiate and influence decision makers, are required.
  • Previous experience working with or for a regulated public utility, especially dealing with rate billing analysis and customer interaction, would be a strong plus.
  • College degree with business major preferred.
  • Able to independently solve problems and think creatively
  • Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines

Responsibilities:

IT Development Manager

UtiliSave has a leadership opportunity in our IT Operations group for a manager to provide management and insight in the development of the central web-based IT systems used to support day to day business operations and provide our customer with business intelligence. This is a hands-on position requiring the management of development staff to support the IT need of the entire organization as well as an active development role in both major decision making and active coding. This position requires interfacing with both senior management and various in house functional groups. The candidate is expected to contribute to and influence management thinking about the solution and make optimal trade off decisions between time, cost, and effectiveness of various technical solutions.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide complete IT architecture and software development assessment, including but not limited to infrastructure, proprietary as well as third party software and existing resources.
  • Understand the business need of the organization and develop the appropriate supporting IT infrastructure and solutions.

The sales executive will be selling our successful utility bill auditing solution and related products and services that to date have recovered over $300 million in savings for our clients and make us one of the premier providers in our business niche.

UtiliSave serves entities across the country that have significant usage of energy and other utilities, including hospitals, nursing homes, hotels, educational institutions, commercial buildings, and government agencies. We are particularly interested in speaking with sales professionals who have strong experience selling to the senior management of these types of organizations.

UtiliSave is a growing company with a strong track record, but we have just launched a new bundle of services and products that we will be selling aggressively, and this is a chance to grow a career along with a new business. Compensation is base plus commissions, which are not capped. Reasonable first year compensation goal:  $85K-$100K; Second year goal: $100K-$150K+

Responsibilities:

  • Selling a service to C-level executives based on a contingency fee arrangement. (Experience selling to large businesses, including Hospitals/HealthCare Systems, as well as experience related to utilities or electricity, oil, gas or water is a must)
  • Handling a protracted sales cycle of 1-6 months, and building tools and processes to shorten the sales cycle.
  • Dealing with multiple stakeholders.

Director of Business Development

The successful candidate will oversee the development and initiation of a go-to market strategy that will be the basis of the general growth plan to expand UtiliSave into multiple national and international markets.  This position requires the design of a market penetration strategy that is both scalable and cost conscious. Once approved by the CEO, the director of this strategy will be charged in seeking to implement this plan in three key markets/customer categories: Baltimore, St. Louis and Miami, large energy users of over $75M annually such as large scale housing and office developments, hospitals, refineries and other manufacturing operations. Achieving clearly set metrics and demonstrating success in these markets will be a major component for this role. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating and fostering tangible revenue, enhancing professional relationships, which allows UtiliSave to develop a comprehensive and profitable process of expansion. In addition, this role requires extensive interaction with key members of the sales team, which includes, but not limited to working collaboratively in an effort to assist and train the participants of this business development. Data Manager

The appropriate candidate will not only oversee all elements of data collection which is the life blood of UtiliSave’s operations, but will also seek out new methods, processes and technologies to keep UtiliSave on the cutting edge of utility data optimization. Responsibilities

  • Oversee a staff dedicated to the collection, tracking, analysis, and reporting of our clients’ utility data, to ensure quick turn-around time of data collections to hasten auditing uptime
  • Oversee all the tasks related to this division’s management including:
    • Research client utility and marketer information for use in the auditing process
    • Created tracking system for data requests
    • Assist with report writing
    • Track data availability for clients’ accounts
    • Request updated data and follow through on these requests
    • Enter data into internal databases using proprietary interface
    • Develop data acquisition processes for new utilities
